Cheryl A. Francis, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor, Georgia
My name is Cheryl A. Francis. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Grief Counselor Specialist trained at Argosy University, formerly, Georgia School of Professional Psychology. I am also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor trained to provide supervision to clinicians preparing for licensure. I work primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, but utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet your needs. My primary goal is to assist you in obtaining your goals and regain the peace you once maintained. You will be supported in working through your challenges to achieve healthy management of your life and relationships. Those feelings of anxiety from life's stressors, take them to my space so they can be shared and leave you feeling "lighter".
Professional Development is one of my passions. Any given month you may find me providing trainings or motivating an organization's workers to the greatness within them via seminars or conferences. (Currently using Zoom platform).
I am a published Author of "Journaling the Journey", and a contributor to the West Georgia Women monthly magazine.
I am also the founder and Director of Rebounding With A Purpose (RWAP) a 501c-3 organization which provides free or reduced mental health services along with housing supports to the underserved.
My focus is on holistic measures, addressing each Dimension of Wellness while we work together. I utilize a variety of techniques, even meeting you in your space, when feasible, to help you heal, energize, and become aware of your inner strengths. Therapy and Professional Development will always be about you and what you need. You are supported by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan with you for your specific needs. Our first session will always be focused on whether I am the right fit to meet your specific needs. IF NOT, I will be happy to provide you some referrals to get you on your path to healing.
Our professional development (PD) offers a variety of learning or training opportunities to help improve professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness. They are designed to provide active learning environments supporting participants to master specific learning objectives. Professional Development may include trainings, workshops, online courses, or information sessions for many professional disciplines. Our PD goal provides strategies that, when used, will have positive effect on outcomes. We set high standards of practice for our professional development efforts. Each service is designed to meet you or your organizational needs and is based on learning theories and best practices.
Anxiety is the number one mental health disorder in the Untied states. Many experience anxiety on a daily basis, but because of lack of knowledge they go about their daily life without seeking treatment, or self-medicating to get ease. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and the joy you once experienced in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness which are associated with trauma, are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We support you in walking beyond and overcoming these symptoms while guiding you through the process of healing.
Grief and loss is not only about death and dying. It is also about the individual who was told after 20 years of marriage, they are not loved anymore. It is also about that person who will no longer get to see friends and loved ones anymore. Grief and loss does not have a timeline! After the loss, when the cards, flowers and visits are no more, and you sit with yourself questioning and feeling the pain, call me to help you walk through the tangled web of emotions that are now flooding you. You do not have to go the grief journey alone!
Unhealthy relationship impacts us at the CORE of our being. Relationship counseling can be beneficial to those who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection and communicate more effectively in all stages of their relationships. Therapy sessions are held to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationships.
