Adolescent Groups

Teen Life – Skills Group

Group therapy sessions for teenagers between the ages of 14 to 18 who are dealing with managing emotions related to depression,  anxiety, lack of confidence and managing daily life. Groups meet weekly. A cognitive behavioral therapy approach will be used as the form of treatment. Group participants will enjoy Real-life talk, therapy, cool snacks and be expected to practice skills taught outside of group.  Skill including journaling. Participants will be taught effective ways to cope with emotions, managing relationships and identify depressed mood and anxiety using evidence based coping skills. Group is open and new members can join if space is available. The group will include no more than 8 teens at one time.

Teen Girls Empowerment

Group counseling sessions for girls ages 14 to 18 that explores issues that girls face on a daily basis such as peer pressure, self image, relationships, self esteem, family conflict, fitting in, future plans, etc. Participants will be given a safe space to share thoughts and feelings on the challenges that teen girls face on a daily basis. Participants will be provided with tools, techniques, and strategies to deal with daily challenges. Girls will be taught ways to stay positive, they will learn how to make good decisions for themselves, and they will develop a greater sense of self empowerment. The group is open and new members can join if space is available. The group will include no more than 8 girls at one time.

Keeping It under Wraps For Teens

Eight week group counseling sessions for 14 to 18 year old teens who are struggling to manage their anger and frustrations. The group will meet once weekly. Participants will explore the feelings beneath their anger and will talk openly about what gets them upset. Participants will be provided with effective tools and techniques to better manage their anger and will learn how to be assertive in expressing their feelings. The group will include no more than 8 teens in the group at one time. The group is open and new members can join at any time if space is available.  Evidenced based curriculum will be utilized.  Teens leave with skills and a certificate of attendance.
